Am I an artist? Unequivocally, yes. Have I always been able to acknowledge this? No. Have I always
understood what defines an artist? No. Early studies in art focused on imagery and design; basically, the use of color, value, line, and shape. I was so wrapped up in the technical aspects of making art; I didn’t realize that the art I was creating was a reflection of me, of my inner vision. Now, I realize that making art is simply a vehicle for opening oneself, to trusting that inner vision, to trusting the journey, the process.
