While I was painting a couple of days ago, I asked myself, “Why?” Why do I continue to work, to struggle with my process? It’s something I have to do! When in the zone, I see related shapes, I see relationships, I see that nothing exists in isolation. My gift, as an artist, is to share this perspective; seeing even a common element in a different light, to extend, to expand, to open to something beyond.
